About

KWCelloSuzuki

KW Suzuki Cello is a community coming together to share a love of music and commitment to develop each student’s ability learning the cello.  Creating a nurturing home environment and spending daily time with the instrument are key ingredients to developing the young musician.  Students participate in private lessons, master classes, workshops, recitals and community performances.  Parents attend lessons and structure daily practice in the early stages.  Teaching is based upon the Suzuki method and adapted individually to each student.  Lessons are held in a friendly home environment.

Amber Ghent is both an active teacher and performer, teaching from her home in Kitchener and at the Suzuki String School of Guelph.  She earned an Honours Bachelor of Music at Wilfrid Laurier under the tutelage of the Penderercki String Quartet and Paul Pulford.  Graduate work included studies with Bonnie Hampton and a Master of Music Performance working with members of the Cleveland Orchestra.  Amber is a trained Suzuki teacher and has taught at the Southwestern Ontario Suzuki Institute, the Kincardine Summer music festival, Lakefield music, and she previously taught at the  Cleveland Music School Settlement.
